The Museum of Lodeve is exhibiting an exceptional collection of twentieth-century Brazilian art, rarely shown in Europe. A panorama of the full variety of a free and inventive art, this collection shows the many facets of Brazilian identity and a breathtaking diversity of expression.
Some fifty Brazilian artists, nearly half of them women, reveal an intimate relationship with their homeland. From the natural world, both exuberant and arid, through great gatherings around samba-dancing or football or religious processions, to imaginary worlds imbued with Indian and African culture, the exhibition is a colourful journey into the vastness of Brazil.
