Landscape in the collections of Reims Fine Art Museum

This exhibition illustrates an evolution of landscape painting from Corot, represented here by eleven paintings, to Impressionism and on to the modernity of Denise Esteban (1925-1986). The Museum of Lodeve is delighted to be partnering with Reims Fine Art Museum, holders of one of the most important collections of 19th century landscape paintings in France.

Great masters and unexpected gems

Alongside the greats - Corot, Courbet, Monet, Marquet and Sisley - the exhibition reveals some unexpected gems : two landscapes by Renoir (known mainly for his portraits) and some stunning paintings by lesser known Moret, Harpigny, Maufra and Jongkind amongst others.
